How To Clean A Resin Table Top
What the heck should I use to clean my epoxy surface?! Let's take a look at 12 popular cleaning products, across a comprehensive range of categories, from some of the most common brands in the cleaning industry. We'll evaluate each based on performance, general availability and price to narrow down our Top 3 Daily Cleaners that'll keep your epoxy tables and counters free of dust, dirt, streaks and scratches.
Not gonna lie. It was tough to narrow it down to just 12 products after running the cleaning supply isle gauntlet at my local Super Target. Shelf and after shelf, chocked full of an endless array of brightly packaged cleaners designed to tackle everything from kitchens, bathrooms, windows, floors, furniture, granite…and lets just go ahead and throw in autos for good measure. So. Many. Options. At some point I think I got stuck in an analysis paralysis feedback loop, only to come to mindlessly reaching for the last dusty can of Bacon flavored SPAM an isle over.

Product Evaluation
The 12 cleaning products listed above were evaluated by cleaning an epoxy coated wooden panel subdivided into 6 different finishes ranging from natural high gloss, to varying degrees of satin, all the way down to a flat matte finish. Warm water was used as a control, with a reusable washcloth as our preferred applicator. Soft wash cloths, sponges, paper towels and chamois would also work well.
Final Thoughts
First and foremost, what NOT to use: Absolutely NO ABRASIVE cleaners or scouring pads! That means NO Soft Scrub, NO Comet, and NO scratchy side of the sponge. It's also good practice to steer clear of any solvent based cleaners like nail polish removers, alcohols and acetone as they could potentially dull or cloud your surface. Again, non-abrasive is the key here.
Absolutely NO ABRASIVE cleaners or souring pads!
Multi-surface and glass cleaners, both readily available and economically priced, worked like a charm and quickly became the front runners resulting in a clean, clear, streak free surface.
Furniture and auto polish, not so much. These left a waxy oily slick that never really set it, or resulted in a hazy finish. Floor and Granite cleaners, worked okay, but didn't justify the price or extra storage space needed for specialty cleaner clutter.
It could certainly boil to personal preference on scent, or brand loyalty, but multi-surface cleaners are easily our go to favorites for daily cleaning of high gloss, soft satin or flat matte epoxy surfaces.
